16/08/11 | UKRAINE IN THE NATO LEAD: PECULIARITIES OF THE «NON-ALIGNED STATUS»

We may state that today’s definition of Ukrainian non-alignment is the situation, when, given the declared equal remoteness from any military-political alliances Ukraine obediently follows the NATO strategic lead. We’re talking about both information impact, featuring the silent support of authorities, and the default consent for any exercises, transfer of any information and participation in every NATO project.

13/08/11 | IF LIBYA IS A «STARTER», IS SYRIA THE MAIN DISH?

Situations in Syria and Libya are very much alike. Yet, from the strategic standpoint, Libya seems to be a «starter», while Syria has to be considered the main dish. Gaddafi gazed upon Africa, while he was balancing between America, the EU and China and posed no threat to the USA and their allied whatsoever. Syria is a different matter, though — it has tight connection to Tehran and fully maintained the relationship with Moscow, which appeared half a century ago, during the Soviet era.

11/08/11 | RUSSIA, SOUTH OSSETIA, GEORGIA: THREE YEARS AFTER THE FIVE DAYS

The European Union has officially recognized Georgian as a culprit of the armed conflict, having held it responsible for the attack at Tskhinvali. Then, all of a sudden, three years after the U.S. Senate passes on a resolution, accusing Russia of the occupation of Georgia, clearly referring to the sovereign Abkhazian and South Ossetian territories, where Russian troops are stationed in a strict accordance to the bilateral agreements with these countries. Meanwhile, the thought to accuse Americans of occupying Serbia due to the fact of deployment of the largest American military base Kosovo hasn’t occurred even to the most radical critics of the USA yet.

10/08/11 | AGE OF MULTIPOLAR CURRENCY WARS. Part II. What do conspiracy theory fans keep silent about?

«Washington consensus» was violated at the place of its invention. Motherland of the free market is willing to live up to its laws. Somehow, Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Muammar Gaddafi happened to fell victims to Washington attacks. What do these two contrary persons have in common and why did they fell out of the United States favor?

09/08/11 | AGE OF MULTIPOLAR CURRENCY WARS. Part I

The USA and the EU demand China to revalue Yuan, but the Chinese authorities deny this request, stating that this will lead to bankruptcy of Chinese enterprises and, accordingly, to the growth of unemployment and social instability, which Beijing afraid even more than the discontent of its trade partners. As a counter-thesis in the debate with the USA, China presses the charges of uncontrolled emission of the U.S. dollars, which, according to the PRC, provoked the imbalance of the world economy.

08/08/11 | ENERGETIC MARKET AT THE BACKGROUND OF INSTABLE DOLLAR: NEW TRENDS

In the nearest years an energetic world map has all the chances to go through utmost radical changes. New attempts to demote the role of transit states and increase the number of alternative suppliers will be made. All the sides facing the financial crisis — both suppliers and consumers — will get an extra incentive for gaining greater freedom for maneuver.

06/08/11 | TURKEY: FROM EURO-OPTIMISM TO THE NEW MIDDLE-EASTERN POLICY

Turkish shift from the «Euro-optimistic» geopolitical wave to the rails of new Middle-Eastern policy may have far-reaching consequences for an entire world. Competing with the Gulf States for the influence over the Arab world and Middle East, Turkey has to be interested in keeping stability in the northern direction, in the maintenance of partnership with Russia more than ever.

03/08/11 | WHAT DO BEAR AND TIGER HAVE IN COMMON? RUSSIA, CHINA AND THE NEW NAM. Part II

If we draw parallels with the Cold War age, then the SCO rather reminds a Non-Aligned Movement than a Communist bloc. The organization doesn’t set any global objectives but emphasizes its independence from the only remaining center of an expansive force. Such kind of unification fits the spirit of our time quite well, because, despite the remaining ambitions, the West has been weakening since the middle of the 20th century and losing the potential for the global dominion. It’s quite possible that soon enough no alternative military blocs like the Warsaw Treaty Organization would be necessary for its detention.

02/08/11 | WHAT DO BEAR AND TIGER HAVE IN COMMON? RUSSIA, CHINA AND THE NEW NAM. Part I

If we look upon the two-hundred-year-old world map, we’d be surprised to discover that the habitation are of the contemporary SCO accurately matches the territories of countries that avoided the lot of Western civilization in the beginning of the 19th century. If we’d extend the historical panorama to these days, it may seem that the SCO members make up an almost complete list of the countries, where the Western occupants haven’t set their feet (or, to be more precise, haven’t stayed for long). This is a sort of «net balance» of the non-Western humanity, which the tidal waves of European expansion failed to «soak».

02/08/11 | GLOBAL ALTERNATIVE: SHANGHAI COOPERATION ORGANIZATION AS A KEY TO THE MULTIPOLAR WORLD

Despite the tremendous financial aid that America renders to Pakistan, recently anti-American sentiments have ripened in this country — Pakistani, who assisted the CIA during the search and discovery of the «terrorist №1» have been arrested for one. The USA are obviously «losing» Pakistan, but the very fact that this country may join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) any moment make the regional situation critical for the United States. Add the scheduled withdrawal of the U.S. and allied troops from Afghanistan (which also drifts towards the SCO) here and the change of regional balance of powers becomes apparent. Simultaneously, the inveterate issue of the Indian-Pakistani stand is being settled — India also has all the chances to become an SCO member.
