Globalization’s playing an evil joke on the global economics. Troublesome region can hardly be «contained» and put into a financial «quarantine», isolating it from the more or less healthy EU body until the recovery. Such medical analogies are rather popular these days — the former chief economist of the IMF Kenneth Rogoff has recently stated that «euro carry crisis from one country to another like an infection». Besides there already are several patients in Europe and the doctor is in the same ward with them.

Oddities of the officially presented meaning of the U.S. NMD system may be discussed for a long time. So, the intercepting missiles, launched from Romania are to bring the hypothetical Iranian rockets down in over Turkey. In Turkey itself it is planned to station merely AWACS radar. According to the logic of the missile strikes, the latter one should be attack in the first place, because after that the attack at Europe and the USA can be waged with a much greater success. If we draw all the bases and radar of American NMD system as the points of a circle, it is the Russian Federation rather than Iran that happens to be in the center of it.

On the 7^th of October Laureates of the Nobel Peace Prize will be announced in Oslo. It’s difficult to say whether Wael Ghonim will be awarded — he has tough rivals. Yet, if we start giving this award away to people, who provoked a chain reaction of coups, civil conflicts, full-scale civil wars and mass bombings, then the name «Pandora Prize» fits the Nobel Peace Prize more.

On the 2^nd of August, 1914 Enver Pasha, military officer and actual ruler of Turkey offered Russia to align a military bloc against Germany and Austria-Hungary, once Russia guaranteed eternal Turkish possession of the Straits. Yet, it was exactly the thing that St. Petersburg politicians were unwilling to do, giving Turkey a final push towards the embrace of the Central states. Not multiplying the number of its allies was of vital importance for Russia at the moment and cutting off the Straits Turkey, thus, interrupted the most important channel of Russian communications with its Western allies.

New Japanese Minister of Economics Yoshio Hachiro stayed at his post for merely 9 days. Having a peculiar sense of humor, he dubbed the radioactively polluted Fukushima prefectures the «death cities» and while meeting with the journalists after attending Fukushima-1, he greeted them, saying «I’m going to infect you with radiation now!» and pretending to embracing one of the journalists.
