It’s not surprising the musicians — envoys of the New Left movement and especially the hippie subculture — were tremendously significant. For the first time in human history musicians, their behavior, lifestyle, and ideas became a role model and cult.

Dictators have never been alone in their outlooks. In the 1930s—1940s millions of radical right-wing extremists acted in Europe. Fascism wasn’t something that occurred to Germany or Italy alone. This was a pan-European trend.

IRAN HAS NOWHERE TO HURRY

Being a civilization state, Iran will strive to restore its influence in Iraq, which belonged to it for quite a time. Americans, who have actually destroyed the Iraqi statehood, have obviously sacrificed its southern part to future possession by Iran. Establishment of Iranian political control over the major part of Iraq that falls into pieces is merely a matter of time. A state with a history of 50 centuries can always wait for an appropriate moment to come.

Contemporary rebellions don’t come as a surprise for the authorities. Something quite kin to the recent London events happened in Los-Angeles in 1992 and in Paris in 2005. Watching from without, it’s difficult to get rid of the thought that London violence in 2011 was ritual and entertaining of a kind. It’s like Anthony Burgess’ «clockwork oranges» emerged in the middle of 2011 straight from the 60s! And reasons for their anger (apart from the socially-racial ones and an indefinite «fight against the system») still remain unidentified. It’s clear that we’ve once again faced the turmoil, which spread over youth subcultures — the entire variety of them.

Guy Debord, founding member of the Situationist International, played an important part in the arrangement of revolutionary sentiments in Paris in 1968. In the middle and the end of 1960s ideas that Debord, beatniks and some other cultural and political activists (like Albert Camus, George Orwell, Herbert Marcuse, Theodor Adorno, Antonio Gramsci, Jean-Luc Godard, Wilhelm Reich, Leon Trotsky and Mao Zedong) promoted have found a theoretical and practical point of application in the climax of the New Left and hippie movement. Not only mottos of the New Lefts, but the pivotal philosophic postulates and ideologies of the modern congenial political trends (like German Greens) have been inspired by the theoretical legacy of the aforementioned philosophers, writers and politicians.

GEOPOLITICAL KARMA: IS THE INDIAN UNITY DURABLE ENOUGH?

During the last two and a half millennia rare Indian state managed to unite the major part of Indian subcontinent under its authority. All of such periods were brief episodes of Indian history, which make up merely several centuries and may be counted on the fingers of one hand. Is there a guarantee that the current Republic of India is not the similar transient geopolitical phenomenon?

CITY UPON A HILL: DEJA VU. Historical parallels: the USA and the Ottoman Empire

The Ottoman Empire was the most outstanding state of the 16^th century. And today, watching at every bit as impressive achievements of today’s America, we have to remember that it’s neither unique, not eternal by any means. «Shining city» upon the Ottoman «hill» declined quickly enough. Thank God that its ruins haven’t buried the Western civilization and haven’t stopped it from walking its own evolutionary path to freedom. We wish as much to everyone.

When someone mentions «youth rebellions» everyone instantly remembers the 1960s and hippies for some reason, completely missing the point that in the 60s it was the second wave of «rebellions» (not much of «rebellions», as actual «youth» revolutions — author), consistently changing the world and political trend for good and for all. The first «youth rebellions», though, the ones that had no clear programs, clumsy, awkward and raw ones, started in the 1950s.

Before the revolution 45.500 Americans lived in Iran and substantial part of them were military specialists and technical consultants of companies that supplied military equipment and arms to Iranian army. While in 1973 American profits from arms sales all over the world made up «merely» $4 billion, in 1974 they reached the level of $9 billion, half of which was paid by Mohammed Reza Pahlavi.

Perhaps, some people believe monarchy an archaic form of government but it’s only true when the ruling monarch doesn’t add the financial means of this century to his armory. When Mohammed Reza Pahlavi improved his personal authority in management of Iranian oil policy and personal Shah’s property, the authority was gradually passing to American banks that kept abreast of the time. First of all, it was the «Chase Manhattan Bank» headed by David Rockefeller — the largest bank of entire Rockefeller dynasty, closely bound to the top U.S. political leadership.

WHAT DID RED ARMY SOLDIER PRUDNIKOV DIE FOR?

Two ideologies — racial superiority and human equality — were to inevitably enter the last fight. That’s why I don’t consider signing of certain documents by certain individuals to be a sufficient reason for the savage fight to death. Only collective decision of the German nation to believe into its own superiority and the faith of Russians into a humanity brotherhood might be considered truly fatal.

«EQUAL RESPONIBILITY» BLUFF

For us the war started on the 22^nd of June, 1941, for Europe — two years earlier, on the 1^st of September, 1939. And here we are, seventy years from the moment, when there are almost no living witnesses of the great drama, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is accusing our country of unleashing the Second World War along with the Nazi Germany. It’s paradoxical: how could we unleash the war that we didn’t participate in at first? It is not a sack, whose knot may be untied by pulling it from the outside.

22ND OF JUNE. Fatal decisions or fatal instinct?

It’s good that German journalist, who took part in the movie «Fatal decisions» tried to stay within the framework of proper manners. It was exactly Andreas Albes, who said the essentially important phrase: «The very Nazi ideology was the fundamental reason for the war». That’s what every talk about the war should be started from. Strike against Russia was not a preventive step, but rather a vital need of the German nation. Hitler continued the footsteps of Napoleon and Wilhelm, following the main instinct of a Western warrior: at first, unification of continental Europe and then charge to the East. No diplomatic moves were able to stop that machine.

While estimating the manpower of the Third Reich, no one counts its satellites and «fellow-travelers». These are allegedly insignificant nations, playing the back-seat utilities at the historical stage of war. Yet resources of the Soviet Union are mentioned A to Z.

The thought that comparing abilities of the Third Reich and the Soviet Union we may not take the Asian nations into consideration, has never even occurred to us. They are Soviet people after all, our fellow compatriots! In the same time we easily accept the logic that excludes African territories of the French Empire and their dwellers out of comparison. Why is that so?

LIBYA-BAHREIN-GRENADA: FORGOTTEN PARALLELS

During the recent days we’ve witnessed couple of military interventions — attention of entire humanity is bound to one of them, while the second one goes seemingly unnoticed by the world media. The very same state coalition is doing its best in order to change the regime via strong-arm means in Libya and trying to defeat the opposition in an island state of Bahrain at the same time. Both military operations have a lot of in common with American invasion to Grenada in 1983.

REHABILITATION OF FASCISM IN THE EASTERN EUROPE. How comes that "young democracies" ignored the UN General Assembly resolution?

During the years, preceding the USSR collapse, nationalism was artificially planted into the mass conscience by the ruling circles of former Soviet republics, willing to draw people’s attention away from the started re-division of power, curtailment of the social programs and misappropriation of national property. Establishment of national self-conscience, national identity and creation of national states was proclaimed. It was mostly creative intelligentsia and various public movements — funded by the foreign grants — that rendered considerable aid and comprehensive informational support of the former CPSU functionaries. It were them who gave birth to the numerous "national-liberation people’s fronts" — and as far back as in the end of 1980s rehabilitation of the Nazi henchmen started in its depths. Today this process became yet more dangerous.
